Tenant’s Responsibilities

As a tenant with Hull Churches Housing Association you have responsibilities. Under the tenancy agreement you will sign with us, we expect you to:

  • Pay rent on time
  • Inform HCHA of any change in your circumstances
  • Use the premises as your only or main home
  • Request written permission for any alterations
  • Be responsible for your Housing benefit claim, including updating your claim if your circumstances change
  • Report repairs
  • Give access for the annual Connect visit
  • Ensure you get prior consent from HCHA, if you are planning on running a business from home
  • Tell us in advance if you will be away for more than 28 days at a time
  • Allow access for employees or contractors to make inspections or carry out work including the annual gas safety check
  • Insure your home contents
